There’s you, who has a professional website, on a domain in your own name, highlighting your strong points, your successes, and perhaps showcasing a few videos of you or others describing your accomplishments. Your competitor, on the other hand, is nowhere to be found online. Who do you think will get hired?
Another compelling reason is that it can give you a way to express yourself in a way that just didn’t exist a few years ago. If you’ve got any controversial views or ideas that you really want to express, but aren’t sure how people will respond, anonymous blogging is a great solution. There are plenty of anonymous bloggers out there with extremely controversial views that have huge followings and generate involved and heated discussions on their blogs. You may think that you are the only one that thinks the way you do, but when you start blogging, you’ll find there are plenty of like minded people out there.
